Moving to .com domain
Just a quick heads up for this blog moving to a new address.
This is due to the new of Roskomnadzor (Russia’s internet monitoring department) using bots to scrape through every website in state controlled domain zones (.ru, .рф, and, unfortunately, .su). They are searching for anything that’s not compicant with state’s policies, like:
Recording personal data without proper policy. Not applicable to me, since I don’t collect any data on my visitors.
Showing of banned symbols and logos. Instagram is considered extrimist organisation in Russia, so their logo is banned.
For now that’s seem to be all, but with evermore strict rules creeping up, I won’t be surprised if they’ll start punishing people for demonstrating sexual deviance media or not registering in some sort of blogger list.
To be fair, choosing .su domain was a bad idea in the first place. But hey, things change and you can’t predict everything. Unfortunately I can’t edit my previous posts to replace the links. And, I really don’t want to have old URL to lead to my blog for any longer. So yeah, old links will not work anymore. Or maybe they’ll lead to some stub.
Whatever the case, I hope you won’t lose me at my new address.
Stay safe!
