Hidden face of Saint-Petersburg

Saint-Petersburg is well known for its palaces, cathedrals and gardens. But there’s also a hidden face of it - hidden old alleyways and backyards. True, some of those are nefarious for home for junkies, hobos and criminals👿, but the atmosphere of these tucked away corners is unlike any other place. So after a bit of planning, I’ve decided to venture and explore this part of St. Pete. And at late evening nonetheless!🌆 Because I’m fearless this way!😜

The walk starts at a place called Тупик Социализма or Dead end of Socialism. Such a funny name. And fitting to a bumhole of a place it is.🤭 Then, I navigated through the various open alleys of Socialisticheskaya, Pravdy, Dostoevskaya and Razyezhaya streets. Most of the inner yards of big Russian cities like Moscow and St. Pete have their gates closed for non-tenants, so I was glad to find a nice assortment of open spaces and explore a surprisingly numerous collection of various statues, graffiti’s and other interesting things.📹 Truly places of their own little culture.

I’m also really glad that I’ve decided to not use extra light for myself, so that you can appreciate the street light as much as I do. The way it shines all kinds of colors is fascinating to me!✨ And my choice of clothes for this stroll was also spot on! Cute and comfy at the same time.😸 The only problem was that my bag kept slipping down all the time. I guess it’s me suffering from success thou…😮‍💨
