The plan was simple: finish the day stroll, take the mask off, stay in. Instead I looked out the window, saw the dark, and put the kigurumi back on. Doll logic. 🖤
If you missed the daylight half of this trip, it’s here: the day stroll article.
First crossings
Esplanada park was empty, the streets weren’t. Streetlights, wet asphalt, headlights sliding past 0 the town put on its evening face, and I fit right in. Red Square was quieter still: Lenin watched me cross without a word. Professional courtesy, probably.

The other side of Vyborg
Everyone photographs the old town. This evening was about the rest of it: regular blocks, side streets, ordinary intersections. Turns out Vyborg after dark wears the night just as well as its postcard half. No towers, no cobblestones — and it still works.
Yellow leaves
Under one tree the streetlight turned the whole sidewalk gold. Blue eyes, yellow leaves - autumn does the color grading for me.🍂
Tired caught up eventually, so I sat down on a park bench and let the town hum around me. The planned route was longer; the bench won.

And the night didn’t end here. A proper night stroll through Vyborg is already filmed - read it here - but be warned, this one is spicy!😏
One more thing
Back in the room: one candle, one book, one quiet doll.🕯️
